An Update

Thu Apr 24, 2008, 6:58 PM
  • Mood: Affection
  • Listening to: Back In Your Head-Tegan and Sara
  • Reading: A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
  • Watching: The clock
Haven't updated here in ages....
Just wanted to acknowledge that I have over 1000 pageviews now! I totally didn't expect that to happen so soon....thanks to everyone who looks at my stuff.
I have several ideas for drawings (including a possible submission to the Les Mis Club contest) and other things but I won't have time to do them for a while, most likely. Lots of schoolwork 4th quarter....and an AP test to study for. Once that's over I'll have time and (gasp) maybe finish Deux Semaines....or is that a little premature?...haha.

Tomorrow I'm going to participate in the Day of Silence, which will be challenging but it's an event that has personal significance for me so I'll do my best to keep the symbolic silence.
In case you aren't familiar, according to the day of silence website, [link] : "The Day of Silence (DOS) is a national youth movement bringing
attention to the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their allies. The participants’ deliberate silence echoes the silence caused by anti-LGBT bullying, name-calling and harassment. This year’s DOS is held in memory of Lawrence King, a 15 year-old student who was killed in school because of his sexual orientation and gender expression. We believe that ending the silence is the first step toward building awareness and making a commitment to address these injustices."
So even if you aren't participating, maybe think tomorrow about the difference between being able to speak your mind and be who you are and having to stay silent.

Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

I'm loving how much T&S inspired stuff you got here, I just wanted to say that I think your drawings of objects are much more real to life than your people and here's why: people's eyes are half way down their heads. You draw them near the top, I dunno I think that might be your key to making them look more like them? Cos you're on the right path. I'm not tryin to criticise here I hope you don't think I'm tryin to be mean or anything :)That's all!

Hey thanks a lot! Yeah, I realize that I do that with people's faces, my art teacher has pointed that out to me and I'm going to work on it. But thanks!
